Dear big & small friends and AcroYoga lovers,If you ever wondered how baking cookies, and seven other simple tips, can help the world, then this newsletter is for you!
Scroll further down for the upcoming AcroYoga workshops: 2 Parents & Kids AcroYoga series (of which the first one starts THIS saturday at rasalila), valentine AcroYoga workshop to celebrate LOVE, a AcroYoga workshop in Antwerpen and a short PAASCROYOGA update. Also below more about how you can order the new AcroYoga manual and last but not least a delicious palm-oil-free cookie recipe!Jungle lessons:
A few months ago we walked in a piece of beautiful rich jungle (see picture above), sweating and sliding up and down the muddy hills with just a camera and a bottle of water. We saw with our own eyes the abundance of the world. Every step we made we found so many different plants and animals and we swam in a beautiful clear waterfall. We learned to take nothing but memories, leave nothing but our footprints. Being in the jungle was simply an amazing experience captured with our hearts and cameras.
Unfortunately memories and pictures is all that is left of this piece of jungle… THIS JUNGLE DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE, in the background we heard already the chainsaws…
Now it looks like this:

Burned down for a Palm-oil plantation…I often hear people say “there are so many problems in the world, I can’t do anything about it, I don’t know even where to start…”.
What I learned from the jungle of Borneo is that even the smallest step towards consciousness is a step forward. YOU can make a big difference! Below Eight simple tips from the jungle. As I am a lover for sweets,  especially nr. 8 is very important:
1) Buy less
2) Buy used
3) Buy local
4) Share
5) Repair what is broken
6) Recycle what cannot be repaired
7) View the world, once in a while, from a different perspective (upside down like the orangutans, for instance)
8) Bake your own cookies!*
* When shopping for sustainable cookies I was shocked to find out that even in the Bio shops pretty much ail cookies contain Palm-Oil… even for organic and ‘sustainable’ Palm oil jungle has been cut down.. Hence its better for the jungles and the lungs of this world to bake your own cookies! Find my Palm-Oil-free recipe at the end of the newsletter.Happy to back again, hope to see you in one of the upcoming workshops or festivals, for a big hug or for cookie eating!

And for my southern neighbors a great intro to AcroYoga workshop in Antwerpen:

Then we will learn that everyone can carry the weight of a partner, no huge muscles needed! With Partner exercises we explore our strength by using body awareness (‘stacking our bones’). Then we will be ready to FLY!After a break we start with second part of the workshop from 15:30-18:30. We’ll learn how to fly safely Level I Therapeutic Flying and Level I Back Flying. • Delicious palm-oil – free cookie recipe
·       ½ cup coconut oil (au bain-marie to make it liquid)
·       1 cup Masarang palm sugar
(*read below where you can buy it)
·       ¼ cup almond milk (soya milk will do too)
·       1 tablespoon vanilla extract or  1 tbs vanilla sugar
·       2 cups flour
·       1 teaspoon baking soda
·       1 teaspoon baking powder
·       ½ teaspoon sea salt
·       1 cup chocolate chips (+/- 100 gr.)

1.    Pre-heat oven to 180 C.
2.    Mix thoroughly the coconut oil & Masarang palm sugar, then add the almond milk & vanilla. The mixture may be really “liquidy”.
3.    In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
4.    Combine the wet & dry ingredients (it WILL BE crumbly – this is OK), then fold in the chocolate chips.
5.    Roll into Tablespoon sized balls & place them on an un-greased baking paper, then flatten them out a bit with your palm. The dough may be a little crumbly, but just smoosh it together and it will work fine!
6.     Bake for 7-10 minutes:
7.     Enjoy!
And the great Apes I met in the jungles are grateful too, look at them playing in the jungle:

* About Masarang Palm Sugar:

Masarang Palm-sugar (link) is made from the Indonesian Arenga Palm (not to be confused with the Oil Palm which is a very different plant!). Not only is the taste is unique, the sugar is as well environmentally friendly produced, and it is a healthy sugar. By buying this sugar you support Masarang projects like animal rescue centers and reforestation projects.
In the Netherlands you can buy Masarang sugar at Jumbo, Eko plaza, Sem Bio shops and other organic shops.
